In fact, a lot of players, whether famous or not, beginners or professionals, are now using Yonex tennis racquets for practice and tournament purposes. In this article, we will find out some of the interesting things about the company and their racquets.

Yonex Co., Ltd was founded in 1946. This Japanese company started as a manufacturer and producer of wooden floats for fishing nets. As years went by, they shifted into making sporting equipment for badminton. Later on, they added golf and tennis equipment in their products, such as racquets, balls, shoes, clubs and more.

The company made and introduced its first tennis racquet in 1969. The aluminum T-7000 racquet marked their first step in the tennis industry. While this racquet became popular in the West, it needed a lot of improvement, as the racquets suffered from breakages.

This led to the development of the Yoneyama’s OPS shaft. This was integrated into the design of the subsequent racquets, which proved to be efficiently strong on impact. In 1974, the company, going back to its roots, started making wooden racquet.

In 1976, the TS-7000 CARBONEX went on sale and became a best seller, famous for its softness, comfortability, and versatility. More Yonex tennis racquets were released after that.

The company constantly moved up the ladder, improving their racquets, innovating, discovering, and integrating modern technology and materials, until they became and still remains one of the leading tennis racquet manufacturers today.

  1. Which tennis racquet series is your favorite? The Vcore dual series sounds really good to me.. I like the idea of being able to hit speed balls, but the tour series racquet sounds good too. Hitting enough balls with spin and curve is sure to throw off your opponent.

I’m so glad you’ve broken down what these different racquets are meant for. Definitely a big help to all tennis players out there and I like the fact there’s a junior series for younger players or those just starting out!

    1. Thanks for stopping by Peter, although I dont get to play as much as I used to, my favorites have always been tweener racquets for real control.
